Krista Bontrager (TheologyMom)
Krista Bontrager is a fourth generation minister. She is a Bible scholar, lay minister, author, teacher, former university professor and homeschool mom. Krista has a MA in theology and MA in Bible Exposition from Talbot School of Theology. She has a unique ability to communicate the truth of Scripture in an accessible and practical way. Krista’s gift to connect theology with real life is borne out of personal experience. Behind her academic career is a story of God’s empowering work to triumph over deep personal adversity. Krista believes life is full of challenges but has learned to see these as opportunities to grow and walk with the Lord in new ways. She is a staff scholar in theology at Reasons to Believe, and serves on the board for Women in Apologetics and is their resident theologian. Dr. Clay Jones (Biola University)
Clay Jones is associate professor of Christian apologetics in the Master of Arts (Christian Apologetics) program at Biola University and is the Chairman of the Board of Ratio Christi. He formerly hosted Contend for Truth, a call-in nationally syndicated talk radio program. On his program he debated many people over eight years including John Cobb, Jr.; a professor of Buddhism; Jamal Badawi, Islamic Information Institute; a Muslim cleric; a Church of Scientology minister; Mormons; Jehovah’s Witness Greg Stafford; Dallas Blanchard, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice; Peta representatives; a euthanasia advocate; a secular humanist, Rep. Loretta Sanchez; KFI talk show host Bill Handle; Jimmy Creech, SoulForce; Bruce Ware; R. C. Sproul, Jr.; Robert Morey; R. Scott Clark; and a KJV only advocate. Jones was the executive director of Simon Greenleaf University (now Trinity Law School), has been on the pastoral staff of two large churches, has authored apologetic software as well as encyclopedia and journal articles, has written, Why Does God Allow Evil? and Immortal: How the Fear of Death Drives Us and How to Conquer it (forthcoming 2019). Rachel Shockey (Women in Apologetics)
Rachel Shockey is a fine-art artist, graphic designer, and copywriter at Rachel Shockey Studio. She has sold her work nationally and internationally, is a member of Christians in the Visual Arts, and her work has been on display at the Intersect Gallery in St. Louis, MO. She serves as the Executive Director of Development for Women in Apologetics and on the board as Chair. She holds a B.A. in Contemporary Literary Studies and Communication from Warner University (Lake Wales, FL), studying further at Oxford University. Rachel is currently finishing an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. She is researching and writing a thesis on the intersection of apologetics and the arts and how these lead to conversion experiences. Rachel has been a guest on Ratio Christi’s TV ministry, Truth Matters (ABN and NRBTV); Reasons to Believe’s 28:19; and a guest on iWork4Him and Apologetics.com radio.
John Stewart (Intelligent Faith)
John Stewart is an international speaker, biblical scholar, Christian apologist, lawyer, author and radio personality. He is the Scholar-In-Residence for Ratio Christi, a student-faculty apologetics alliance, and is co-founder of Intelligent Faith an international apologetics ministry. John also is a visiting scholar at Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon, and an allied attorney with the Alliance Defending Freedom.
John was formerly a professor of law and apologetics at Simon Greenleaf University in California where he served as the Assistant Dean of the law program. He also co-hosted the nationally-syndicated radio show The Bible Answerman and hosted John Stewart Live on KKLA-Los Angeles. John holds earned degrees in biblical studies and theology, and has a doctorate in law. He is the author of five books, the latest, In Defense of the Gospels, was released on Amazon in January 2018.
John’s passion is presenting an intelligent Christian faith to audiences around the world. He teaches and trains Christians to be ready to give answers for the hope we have in Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:15) and inspires them to engage the culture with the truth of the Gospel.
Laurie Stewart (Intelligent Faith)
Laurie Stewart earned a B.A. degree from California State University Fullerton and a J.D. degree from Chapman University School of Law. She is currently pursuing a M.A. degree in Christian Apologetics at Biola University. Laurie is an attorney, professor, mediator, and public speaker. A former self-proclaimed liberal feminist turned born-again follower of Jesus, she now inspires, engages and challenges women to re-evaluate the assumptions and presuppositions thrust upon them by the post-modern culture. Laurie has taught at colleges, churches, and conferences all over the world. She co-founded Intelligent Faith, an organization that uses apologetics as a method of evangelism and discipleship. Laurie is the President of Women in Apologetics. She and her husband live in Southern California. They have three grown daughters and a lovable German Shepherd.
